Emlor Capture Crucial Victory in Duke of Sutherland Cup

In a battle between two teams with 1-1 records in the Duke of Sutherland Cup, Emlor captured the crucial 9-5 victory over Cortium Sports to book their place in Friday’s semifinal at the Cowdray Park Polo Club.

After a slow start, the Emlor offense came alive over the final three chukkas led by five goals from Richard Tyrone. Despite shooting at goal more than twice as often, Emlor and Cortium Sports finished with four field goals each, but the difference ultimate came from the penalty line. Emlor’s duo of Tyrone and Max Charlton combined to convert five of their six opportunities. In a decisive third chukka of the match, Emlor outscored Cortium Sports 4-0 including three penalty conversions that swung the momentum in their favour. Limited to just six shots on goal, Cortium Sports was unable to mount a comeback in the 9-5 defeat.
