Ferne Park Captures Second Victory in Duke of Sutherland Cup
Cortium Sports and Ferne Park were both searching for their second victory in the Duke of Sutherland Cup on Sunday at Cowdray Park Polo Club, but it was Ferne Park who remained undefeated, leading from start to finish to capture the 11-7 win.
An impressive offensive performance from Ferne Park resulted in 11 goals through five chukkas, eight off the mallet of Joaquin Pittaluga to overwhelm Cortium Sports. Shooting 64% from the field, Ferne Park’s relentless offense gave them the early 5-1 lead and taking control of the game. Despite the best efforts of Cortium Sports’ Lucas Monteverde Jr., who helped his team work their way back within one goal at halftime, Ferne Park’s efficiency in the second half behind accurate passing from Marcos Araya and Luke Tomlinson secured the 11-7 victory for their second win of the tournament.
