Ferne Park Raise Cicero Cup at Cowdray Park Polo Club

The first 15-goal final at Cowdray Park Polo Club featured DJ Cats and Ferne Park battling for the Cicero Cup on Sunday, May 23. Holding DJ Cats without a field goal in the game, Ferne Park used a strong second half to capture the 8-5 victory.

Ferne Park dominated possession throughout the game, outshooting DJ Cats 18-3 with Joaquin Pittaluga leading the team’s attack. Despite failing to record a goal from the field, DJ Cats remained competitive in the game due to the penalty shooting of Jake Daniels, who converted five of his seven attempts. A low-scoring first half left the teams tied at 2-2, with inaccurate shooting keeping Ferne Park from taking the lead. An end-to-end fourth chukka featured seven goals as Ferne Park took the lead on two goals each from Pittaluga and Marcos Araya, while DJ Cats’ continued to struggle from the field but remained trailing by just one entering the final chukka. The advantage from Ferne Park from the field ultimately wore down DJ Cats in the fifth chukka as goals from Pittaluga and Louis Hine sealed the 8-5 victory and the Cicero Cup title.
